Friendly Friday – Contrasts

This weeks Friendly Friday Challenge is set by Amanda at Something to Ponder about.  The current theme is contrasts, something we can all have some fun with.  Next week will be hosted by The Snow Melts Somewhere.

I had a few ideas about this one, and in the end just chose some items from a variety of backgrounds.  The first up was taken in Laos, I’ve used this photo before, but I think it adequately defines contrast.

The next I like, it’s not just the contrast of the colour, but the smoothness of the rock against the almost uniform texture of the water.

Ans this was taken climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland.  The colour of the mountainside against the sky.

The next shot was taken in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.  I think it speaks for itself.

And finally a simple shot of the sky, taken from an airplane window, flying into the sunrise as we approached Auckland, New Zealand.

  1. All the photos are gorgeous. The one taken in Scotland is very surprising for me. It looks like America or Australia. I wish I could go to Scotland more often. There always seems to be so many things to see.
